The one thing most people don't know about me is that I am a shy soul but I play it off pretty well. I had a radio interview this past Saturday with Joyce Coffman in Alabama at 4:30 my time. The closer it got to the time the more some what nervous I became, yet no one would have ever known. Lol! Below is Joyce's words to me.

"Maybe that's why God gives talent to humble people, because some of us would never shut up. You are a gracious lady with a unique sound and quiet presence.  So quiet I hope the listeners heard you and I love your vocal range. Keep on keeping on and may God continue to bless and keep you. Lol"

Well Yesterday I sang and finally played piano at church. I had the option of singing and letting Anthony the choir director play for me as he does every Sunday. I was leaning heavy toward Anthony playing. Lol! I can't remember the last time I played piano and sang any where publicly. I know so many superb keyboard players that I'd only play piano as a writing tool.

But spirit intervened and I just got up when it was time for my solo, sat at the piano and did the thing in spite of being nervous.

It was shocking to the members I could hear gasps as soon as I sat at the piano.

They didn't know I could tinkle some keys and I've been attending the church for 20 yrs. Lol!

So now that the initial just doing it has been done, it will gat easier each time. It must have been cool, the choir director called me several times and gave me major props also stating that the members really enjoyed it and he had gotten calls about how good it was. It wasn't me spirit was working through me. Lol!

You know what they say about opinions and everybody has one. Lol

I have never played piano at church. I'm the church soloist and I'm cool with that!              

As the universe would have it I have to do some piano playing while the REAL piano player (Anthony Lawson) who has played for some of the gospel greats go through surgery and the healing process. HE TELLS ME, "Just go to the piano every Sunday that you're there and play with the organist for the choir and for yourself." 

I was quiet for a minute and then I said, "You know I only have electronic gear for recording. I don't have an acoustic piano to practice on, I don't know if I can do that." (Miss Positive Thinker, right? Lol) He said, "You can do more than you think you can." We both concluded that it would be good for me. So I'm practicing on my son's keyboard getting mentally ready for the challenge. Now I'm craving my baby grand piano more than ever so it will come. This is going to be funny and interesting. Lol!!

TV ONE have been slammin' great music this month. Last night I saw an Earth Wind & Fire concert when they were in Japan 1990.
It was off the chain!!!!
This coming Saturday night they will be airing an assortment of artists in concert such as Janet Jackson, The Jackson 5, etc.  Check it out!

I've clicked on a few members page who have interesting names and who sound like interesting people. I sure would like to see who you are, and others would too. LOL!!!

June is Black Music Month. Take time out of your day and soothe your soul with the FLAVA of your choice of music
